WSS 20th Anniversary
Worldwide Seminarian Support was founded 20 years ago with the mission to help fund those following the calling to the Priesthood. We celebrate our 20th Anniversary this year, and are eager to continue our apostolate.
Worldwide Seminarian Support's mission is to fund the abundance of third world vocations through the donations of the faithful laity of the Catholic Church.
50+ Priests Funded
Over the past 20 years, we've helped support the education of over 50 men into the Priesthood through generous donations from people like you. With your help, we can continue to change the world, one Priest at a time.
20 Years of Funding
Seven Reasons to Support a Seminarian:
5. Anointing of the Sick
6. Holy Matrimony
7. Holy Orders
The Faithful 1000 program is a new broader donor base initiative introduced by WSS to fund 100 seminarians in Africa and India during our 20th anniversary year. With each supporter contributing $30 each month for one year we will be able to provide support for one hundred seminarians. Each faithful 1000 member will be graced by the daily prayers of the seminarians they support, along with intentions during each of the masses they celebrate once they become priests.
The reasons are clear! Your donation can bring men, women, and children to Christ worldwide through the infinite graces granted in the sacraments of His One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.
You can make a huge impact and never even leave your living room! By your contribution to Worldwide Seminarian Support. you can help to raise up holy priests to bring the seven Sacraments and salvation to Catholics around the world.
Please remember to pray for our seminarians through their journey to the Priesthood. Daily, your seminarians are praying for you, their special benefactor. When your supported seminarians are an ordained Catholic Priest you will be remembered at every Holy Catholic mass they celebrate!
Faithful 1000 donors may contribute by check or by automatic withdrawal from your debit or credit card account. Donation options are monthly, quarterly, semi-annually and annually. We can also send out reminders for your convenience.
Each Faithful 1000 chapter will have two special events per year to recognize our donors and raise awareness of the need for vocations. Past events have included special Masses, visits by ALCP leadership and hosted brunches. Future events will be listed on our website. Faithful 1000 members will also receive updates on the seminarians via e-mail, newsletter, ordination announcements and invitations.
Donors will have a list of their current seminarians, and the seminarians will have a list of these donors and their particular prayer requests. The priests at the seminary will say special Masses to celebrate the birthdays of all of our Faithful 1000 donors and their immediate families.
Why Support a Seminarian?
The Faithful 1000
Not only do we believe in priestly education, but religious education made available to all who are open to hearing Christ's calling. We co-sponsor projects in third world communities to help assist the Catholic Church evangelize through Catholic education and necessary construction projects. These projects include wells for clean water, seminaries, and schools.
Support Future Faith
The need for apostolic funding is enormous in many countries with booming vocations. God is calling so many men to this great, noble, and holy vocation but the funding needed is not always available. Your support not only helps those seminarians become priests, but it helps their communities from all their good works.
Run For Faith
We hold an annual 5K run/walk with proceeds going directly to help fund education for seminarians. This has been a powerful ministry, helping the community stay fit while raising money for a worthy cause.
Prizes/medals are awarded in various age groups, and don't forget the tasty treat after you run! Join us at this annual event to promote the faith and keep in shape!
Each year our organization gathers for our annual meeting, where we review the year and organize future events.
Our meetings are open to the public and offer talks on faith, freebies, and various other information about our organization. If you're in the area, please join us for our annual meeting!
Contact us for more information on the location and itinerary of our upcoming annual meeting.
We are always thinking up ways to get the community involved in our fundraising efforts. Throughout the year, we will have many opportunities for you to join us in a fun social fundraising event.
You can find our upcoming events on the news page of our website, on our Facebook page, or by subscribing to the RSS feed. We hope you will join us at one of these events and show your support!
Change the World, One Priest at a Time
Our Patron Saint
After much discussion and prayerful discernment, one of our founding members, our founding priest Fr. Nicholas Nilema ALCP brought it to our attention that the Blessed Mother would be the perfect patron for our organization and our cause.
She has been such a powerful testament to doing the holy will of God, and she has given such direction and intervention to our organization especially in its founding years. She is the Mother of God, the Mother of the Church, and the Mother of all Believers, so who better to have? At that same meeting founding board member Patty Becker gave a little background on Our Lady of Good Remedy.
We have been so blessed and guided by the prayers and support of our Blessed Mother. We invite each and every one of you to implore the help of Our Lady of Good Remedy for Worldwide Seminarian Support, fundraising for the education of Catholic seminarians to the priesthood, and for your own personal intentions. The Blessed Mother always leads us to her son, our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Prayer for Vocations
Oh Lord Jesus Christ, Good Shepherd of our souls, you who know your sheep and know how to reach your children's hearts, open the minds and hearts of our young people who search for and await a word of truth for their lives. Let them understand that only in the mystery of your Incarnation they can find full light. Arouse the courage of those who know where to seek the truth, but must deal with challenges in this world, such as fear that what you ask will be too demanding. Stir their hearts that they may overcome doubts, fears, other voices and paths, which lead nowhere.
You who are the Word of the Father, the Word which creates and saves, the Word which enlightens and sustains hearts, conquer with your spirit the resistance and delays of indecisive hearts. Arouse in them the courage and love to answer yes to your call. Here I am, send me.
Virgin Mary, Mother of God and Our Mother, support with your motherly love our youth, to whom the Father will grant that they may hear His voice. Protect also those who are already consecrated. Let them repeat with you the eyes of the joyful and irrevocable gift of self. Amen.
Prayer for Seminarians
Lord Jesus, as You once called the first disciples to make them fishers of men, let your sweet invitation continue to resound: Come follow Me! Give young men and women the grace of responding quickly to your voice. Support our bishops, priests and consecrated people in their apostolic labor.
Grant perseverance to our seminarians and to all those who are carrying out the ideal of a life totally consecrated to your service. Awaken in our community a missionary eagerness. Lord, SEND WORKERS TO YOUR HARVEST and do not allow humanity to be lost for the lack of pastors, missionaries and people dedicated to the cause of the Gospel.
Mary, Mother of the Church, the model of every vocation, help us to say “yes” to the Lord who calls us to cooperate in the divine plan of salvation.
